Get Gross Out

Dedicated to the removal of Daryl Gross as Athletic Director of Syracuse University. We have experienced enough pain with Syracuse Athletics under his guidance. The time for change is now!

Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week

Emily Kaier is a Senior on the Volleyball squad. Apparently we have a penchant for Volleyball players in the SABOTW. Emily was recently the topic of a segment on SUAthletics.com called "Off the Court" where she answered some questions that we were all wondering. For instance, Paul Walker of Varsity Blues fame happens to be the person she would most like to have dinner with. Sorry Danny, try harder next time. Emily was a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll the past three seasons as well as being Big East Academic All Star each year. She also has some hops, setting the record for high jump at Oswego High School (5'6"). Emily is majoring in psychology and forensic science.

Syracuse Atheletics Babe of the Week

Brittany Kern is a Senior on the Volleyball team. Brittany led the team with a .348 attack percentage which was good for third best all-time. She has been on the Big East Academic All-Star list each year with the Orange and has also been listed on the Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll every year. She is a Biology Major from Indianapolis. Congrats to Brittany, our Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week!

Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week

Christina Dove is a sophomore on the Women's Lacrosse team. She is a pretty good player, recording 47 goals in her Freshman season. Those 47 goals put her in third place all time for goals. She also tallied 11 assists en route to becoming one of the most prolific scorers in the history of Syracuse Women's Lacrosse. Did I mention she is only going to be a sophomore? She is enrolled in the Whitman School of Management and made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll both semesters. Congrats to Christina, our Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week!

Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week

Taylor Metcalfe is a Freshman on the Women's Ice Hockey team. The Syracuse Athletics website says that she is Canadian and likes long walks on the beach. We might have added that last bit, but she is still Canadian. Taylor is also enrolled in the college of arts and sciences and is yet undeclared for her major. We wish Taylor all the best both on and off the ice and look forward to chronicling what will hopefully be a long and stellar career at Syracuse. Congrats to Taylor for being our Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week!

Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week

Catrina Roth is a Senior on the soon to be defunct Swimming and Diving team (but we still support her as SABotW). Unfortunately the S&D site hasn't been updated with information from last year, but Catrina primarily swims the Backstroke and won both the 100m and 200m many times her Junior season. She was also a BIG EAST Academic All-Star and a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll both semesters in 2006-2007 and is a dual major in public relations and sociology. Congrats to Catrina on being our Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week.

Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week

If you didn't read Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician yesterday, you fail at life, and you also missed a nice little piece on the Athletic Department trying to distract us from the state of Syracuse Football by making mention of the Syracuse Volleyball team.

Featured in the article is Kacie MacTavish, a 5'11" outside hitter. Yes, we take your hints to stalk very seriously. All I will mention is that she is a Libra and is apparently engaged.

And with that, a new weekly feature is born. We are proud to present your Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week (Or SABOTW because everything needs a damn acronym these days). With the state of Syracuse Football in such peril, it seems only right that we bring you something to distract yourself from the cold dark truth that we might not win a game all season.

Your first Babe of the Week is Shelby Schraden, a sophomore on the Field Hockey team. Shelby is a forward who scored four goals and had one assist in 18 games last season. She was selected to the Big East All-Academic Team so she isn't only a babe, she's also pretty smart as well. Congrats to Shelby on being our Syracuse Athletics Babe of the Week!
